the che cafe in san diego, is one of our absolute favorite places to play.  one of the most band friendly diy venues one could come across, and has been a staple in the san diego music scene for over 30 years. its a volunteer run collective/community that in addition to hosting shows, is also a vegan cafe, and even hosts social and political events. it has served up some special memories for us throughout our years as a band.

unfortunately, they have been hit with some pretty high insurance premiums and other expenses that are causing it to come dangerously close to shutting down. we want to help keep this place open to create memorable nights for many more fans/bands in the future so we thought we would run a few specials to help donate to the cause.

beginning today, saturday january 7th – monday january 9th, the proceeds from all sales (except shipping) will be donated to che cafe. meaning if you buy any item, we will give the money directly to them. additionally, we’ve got a few download options at really low donation prices.

howdy everyone!

we hope this finds you well as we head into the thanksgiving weekend!  things here have been good. we have begun writing some new tunes, and are in early discussions for a few shows in the east coast early next year! we are thankful for your continued support and still cant believe that a little over 6 years ago now, our little group got together to have fun and make some tunes. happy to say that 6 years later, we all still get the same enjoyment!

hi everyone,

its been awhile since we updated the site and we thought we would let you all know that things are alive and well in the signal hill camp. we began recording our first tunes for the follow up to More After We’re Gone.  we spent a glorious friday and saturday night at the compound studio in signal hill with our friend jeff lewis and patrick murphy.  we have fully tracked 4 songs so far and hope to go back and record more tunes in december. very excited with what we have so far! we arent sure exactly how itll be released yet (an ep, a couple of splits etc.) so while we await for those details to finalize, we are working on writing more jams! we will surely post sneak peaks of some of the new songs. stay tuned for more details on that front (there is a video at the bottom of this post which plays a little snippit!)

in a few non signal hill news items, our good bros are heading to the east coast for their first east coast tour next month! go view their tour dates and see them if they are in your town. such a great band, and the best dudes! they are playing some great shows with caspian (whos on an epic european tour right now), the american dollar, gifts from enola and a handful of other awesome bands.

in other buddies touring news, our friend rajiv patel (who actually played our ep release party a couple years ago) is heading on a month long tour opening for dear and the headlights and kinch. we cant say enough about how amazing this dude is live. his tour dates are posted on his myspace .

our friend rob price (who did the artwork for both the ep and our full length) and his wife kathy launched a new website called quotecookie.com. this site is a quote generate loaded with quotes that inspire creativity. grab a cookie each day or submit your own quote for others to enjoy!

thats about it for now, oh and our australia recap is coming at some point in the near future!!!

in other news, the album is coming along nicely! there are 4 tracks which are mixed,  with the rest underway! big thanks to our friend patrick murphy for his help! murphy has been working on our album in literally all of his (very limited) spare time and deserves a huge thanks from us! in addition to the tracks being completed, our friend rob price (thwartdesign.com) has been lending his hand at the album art which is almost completed and looks awesome!  stay tuned for the release date and release plans for the album. we are working on some stuff to get this out to you all as soon as possible! thanks for your patience and support!

in signal hill related news, we have wrapped up the writing for our first full length album and will now work on some pre-production tasks before heading to the studio! we are excited to share the songs with you all!

also, many thanks to everyone who came out to our show with this will destroy you, tulsa, and what made milwaukee famous the other night. we had a great time, and met a lot of great folks!

we have a couple other upcoming shows and then we will be taking some time off playing shows for a bit to focus on the album.

so if your able to make it out, we hope to see you at one of the upcoming shows!
