let’s talk about that there record for a second! we got confirmation today that they are shipping to us in the next few days and we couldn’t be more excited!  in fact, since we now know they are on their way, we feel it’s safe to offer a pre-order for anyone who wants to secure one of these little guys. strictly limited to 250 copies pressed on red vinyl, it features one song from each band.  if you pre-order one, we will give you an immediate digital download in the format of your choice: including MP3, MP3 HD, Apple Lossless, FLAC and more.  the actual record will ship sometime on or near sep 22^nd.

the all india radio song might be one of our favorites from their collection, and it also happens to have one of the raddest videos ever! our tune, van gogh sky, is a brand new one, recorded over two weekends on two separate coasts!  we will be playing it for the first time ever as a full band when we all get together next month.

tour update

so the tour is happening in just a few weeks! we’ve been re-learning the tunes after not having played them in ages, and man it feels good. we will regroup as a full band in brooklyn ny for the first  time in almost a year… we seriously can’t believe that it’s been that long!

in our “help pick our setlist” poll, paper airplanes and the dead vineyard are the two most requested songs so far!  the poll will remain open until just before midnight on friday sept 2^nd .

we are playing with some great bands and hope you can make it out if you’re in the area!

our good friend patrick murphy who recorded and mixed more after we’re gone, is finishing up the last tune. once finished, it will be off to mastering and then the press.  more details, pre-order info, and of course music will be posted in the coming weeks. we appreciate your continued support!

also! this is super exciting for us. rishi will be visiting from scotland during this time, and we will be playing 2 shows! one show at the gingerbread house in san jose w/silian rail and a show at pehrspace (our home away from home) in los angeles w/ silian rail and death house chaplain.  these will be our first shows in nearly a year and we will be celebrating with a new cd and 7 inch! hope to see some of you there

hi everyone,

its been awhile since we updated the site and we thought we would let you all know that things are alive and well in the signal hill camp. we began recording our first tunes for the follow up to More After We’re Gone.  we spent a glorious friday and saturday night at the compound studio in signal hill with our friend jeff lewis and patrick murphy.  we have fully tracked 4 songs so far and hope to go back and record more tunes in december. very excited with what we have so far! we arent sure exactly how itll be released yet (an ep, a couple of splits etc.) so while we await for those details to finalize, we are working on writing more jams! we will surely post sneak peaks of some of the new songs. stay tuned for more details on that front (there is a video at the bottom of this post which plays a little snippit!)

in a few non signal hill news items, our good bros are heading to the east coast for their first east coast tour next month! go view their tour dates and see them if they are in your town. such a great band, and the best dudes! they are playing some great shows with caspian (whos on an epic european tour right now), the american dollar, gifts from enola and a handful of other awesome bands.

in other buddies touring news, our friend rajiv patel (who actually played our ep release party a couple years ago) is heading on a month long tour opening for dear and the headlights and kinch. we cant say enough about how amazing this dude is live. his tour dates are posted on his myspace .

our friend rob price (who did the artwork for both the ep and our full length) and his wife kathy launched a new website called quotecookie.com. this site is a quote generate loaded with quotes that inspire creativity. grab a cookie each day or submit your own quote for others to enjoy!

thats about it for now, oh and our australia recap is coming at some point in the near future!!!

howdy everyone,

sorry we have been so silent on the website lately. we have a few posts in the works including an australia re-cap and a post on some of our favorite albums, but they are taking us a little time!

here a couple of quick updates that we wanted to share with you in the meantime! first of all, we are hitting the studio again at the end of this month! wooo hoo! we will be tracking at the compound studio (in signal hill) with our pals jeff lewis and patrick murphy, the two dudes responsible for “more after we’re gone”(jeff did drums and bass, and murphy did guitars, keys, misc, and mix). our goal is to have a few of our new tracks recorded for a possible split or another ep at some point. we hope to continue writing and releasing music more frequently then we were doing so in the past.

also, we had what is likely our last show for 2009 this past tuesday (august 11) with pals the littlest viking and beware of safety at the echo curio. the show was a real blast. we love both of those bands very much and they of course killed it!

our set list was:

our friends over at radio free silverlake have posted a new (and FREE!) 2009 mix on their site which includes our new tune,  llangollen.  its a great mix which includes lots of la bands from various genres and we are flattered that they asked us to contribute. its a great way to get the new year started with lots of righteous jams, so go grab the mix here!
