hi everyone,

its been awhile since we updated the site and we thought we would let you all know that things are alive and well in the signal hill camp. we began recording our first tunes for the follow up to More After We’re Gone.  we spent a glorious friday and saturday night at the compound studio in signal hill with our friend jeff lewis and patrick murphy.  we have fully tracked 4 songs so far and hope to go back and record more tunes in december. very excited with what we have so far! we arent sure exactly how itll be released yet (an ep, a couple of splits etc.) so while we await for those details to finalize, we are working on writing more jams! we will surely post sneak peaks of some of the new songs. stay tuned for more details on that front (there is a video at the bottom of this post which plays a little snippit!)

in a few non signal hill news items, our good bros are heading to the east coast for their first east coast tour next month! go view their tour dates and see them if they are in your town. such a great band, and the best dudes! they are playing some great shows with caspian (whos on an epic european tour right now), the american dollar, gifts from enola and a handful of other awesome bands.

in other buddies touring news, our friend rajiv patel (who actually played our ep release party a couple years ago) is heading on a month long tour opening for dear and the headlights and kinch. we cant say enough about how amazing this dude is live. his tour dates are posted on his myspace .

our friend rob price (who did the artwork for both the ep and our full length) and his wife kathy launched a new website called quotecookie.com. this site is a quote generate loaded with quotes that inspire creativity. grab a cookie each day or submit your own quote for others to enjoy!

thats about it for now, oh and our australia recap is coming at some point in the near future!!!

in other news, the album is coming along nicely! there are 4 tracks which are mixed,  with the rest underway! big thanks to our friend patrick murphy for his help! murphy has been working on our album in literally all of his (very limited) spare time and deserves a huge thanks from us! in addition to the tracks being completed, our friend rob price (thwartdesign.com) has been lending his hand at the album art which is almost completed and looks awesome!  stay tuned for the release date and release plans for the album. we are working on some stuff to get this out to you all as soon as possible! thanks for your patience and support!

howdy everyone,

we have been a bit silent lately, so we thought we would pass on a couple of quick updates,  the first being progress on the new album. i know i know, all we do is talk about this thing… and the reality is, its really all thats been going on in the signal hill world! we were back in the studio last weekend doing a couple of final touches on tracking. tracking is completely finalized, and in fact, our buddy murphy is set to begin mixing this weekend!  we are on target for a late march/early april release (pending mixing goes smoothly, which are very optimistic about).  stay tuned for more updates as they come available!

also, in other signal hill news, brian (aka stash) and his lady stacey are set to deliver their baby girl lauren in the next few days! we are very excited for them and their new addition!

in other la instrumental jammage news, our good friends beware of safety have posted the following on there blog:

BoS has hit the airwaves with force. What would really help our radio campaign is calls from fans to all their local radio stations requesting BoS music to be played. As you can see from the following numbers from our promotion team at AAM Promo, we’re cracking in to the top of the charts in a handful of cities country-wide, so with your help, we’d be able to get consistently in the top 15 for certain. Here’s a sample of what dogs is doing in it’s first few weeks…

Also from AAM: “It is a very positive week for Beware of Safety with a solid amount of debuts from substantial stations and one of the highest download rates in AAM Digital history.”

howdy everyone!

hope you all had a delicious and relaxing thanksgiving weekend! as the end of 2008 is rapidly approaching, we wanted to start by giving a huge thank you to you all for what has been a great year for signal hill!  we appreciate your constant support and hope to share some “presents” during this holiday season! so thank you!!!

a couple of us are heading over to ucla radio to do an interview this wednesday at noon for our friend armand’s show post-rock, paper, scissors (every wed 12-2). the interview will be streaming online! go to ucla radio to stream that shiz!

hi everyone,

hope this finds you all doing fantastic! things have been a little quiet on the signal hill front lately. the great news is we are back to the record! this upcoming weekend we will spend our days/nights in veneklassen studios with our friend patrick murphy. we are super excited to work with murphy, hes a great guy with a great ear (or 2 rather)! he recently finished up the new beware of safety  record called “dogs”, which from the previews we have heard, sounds unbelievable!!!! be on the lookout for that coming out i believe in november! thats the only real update we have for now,  and while its been slow as of late, things should start happening really quickly from here on out! pictures and updates to come this weekend!

Our good friends Beware of Safety are doing a CA tour with another post rock powerhouse, Giants! They just got word that their show in Fresno was double booked causing these dudes to get bumped. They need a show ANYWHERE between LA and San Francisco for Monday August 11th.

If you know any contacts or are able to help in anyway, that would be super rad… They are both great bands and just a great group of dudes!
